Most of today's gadgets are made out of high-tech materials and usually have a very futuristic look to them. While this can be the case with most tactical lights, when it comes to tactical LEDs - the shape and form are made to fit in your pocket with a minimalistic design and durable materials. They may look like a basic '90s flashlight, but what's special is the technology behind LED and the advantages it has over more conventional flashlights. What's very characteristic with LED lights here is that they have a standard range of lumens count which includes 300, 500 and 700-lumen lights as the most common ones. Because it can also be used as a self-defence tool, a tactical LED light has a brighter brightness level than standard flashlights which makes it easy to defend yourself as this provides a shorter more illuminating beam. Unlike conventional style flashlights, LED lights have a broader beam hence why there's an option to switch between different types of light illumination. A tactical LED light is usually a very small one and because of that, it can be carried in almost any type of pocket, backpack, or handbag. Manufacturers today even include a mounting brace if you want to connect the light to your weapon or helmet and if you are an outdoor enthusiast you can use a tactical LED light as a form of hands-free light for their hiking or mountain climbing. An LED flashlight can be used in a lot of circumstances, such as cycling, boating also for a lot of security jobs or by electricians, plumbers and mechanics. An LED light is not only for heavy-duty outdoor use it can be used in everyday situations too - hence why it is good to have one in your pocket at all times. An LED light is very efficient as they use semiconductors to generate heat in order to light up. But one important thing to be wary of when using them is the beam settings and type of batteries you have. You see the settings are set on high all the time the batteries can be drained very fast and if you use cheap NiCd or NiMH batteries you are going to end up replacing them in no time. A good way to get the most out of its efficiency it is to compare the wattage to a standard flashlight and see which one has more lumens to offer for the same amount of wattage.
