There are a few types of exhaust systems, including dual, cat-back, axle-back, dual tailpipes and dual output muffler. As the name suggests, a dual exhaust uses two exhaust channels as a way to increase efficiency. Cat-back exhausts focus on the parts that are after the catalytic converter. An axle-back one focuses on the parts that are after the rear axle. The dual tailpipes and output mufflers don't have any real purpose. They are only used to give a car the look that it has a dual exhaust system, when in fact, it doesn't. Using the right car exhaust means that you won't be so toxic for the environment around you and you will utilise your car to be a lot more efficient.
Exhausts can be seen on every car, no matter where you are. Every car comes with an exhaust when you buy it. But, why is that so? What makes a car exhaust so important? Well, it's because the cars we use today and have used for a long time in the past are centred around a combustion engine. The engine makes combustions in order to power the car. But, that creates a lot of toxic fumes. If the fumes aren't let out of the engine they can create matter that will clog it. That will cause a lot of problems and do a huge amount of damage to the engine. Exhausts prevent this kind of damage by offering a way that allows for fumes to escape from the engine. When the exhaust does a better job it gives the car more power. The main goal of exhausts is that they try to make the car as efficient as possible. The fumes that leave the car are also toxic, so if an exhaust doesn't work properly it could allow for those fumes to enter where the passengers and driver are. This could potentially be deadly, as the main gas is carbon monoxide which is highly toxic. The exhausts are also responsible for keeping the noise of the car to tolerable levels. Most exhausts try to keep the noise levels as low as possible. The stock exhausts restrict the fumes from leaving properly, thus reducing efficiency. This is because manufacturers try to make them at cheaper prices. An aftermarket car exhaust can have a hefty price tag, but it's much better than a stock one. It allows for the engine to breathe better, thus increasing the levels of efficiency.
